At Asakusa Kaminari Ren, we honor the authentic traditions of Awa Odori from its birthplace, Tokushima, while also exploring our own unique rhythms and dance styles inspired by the spirit of Asakusa and Tokyo’s historic downtown culture.

Our members range in age from three years old to their seventies. Cherishing the heart of every member and dancing together as one, we strive each day to bring the iki—the stylish, spirited elegance of old Edo and Asakusa—into the traditional art of Awa Odori.

We are truly delighted to have the opportunity to dance here in our hometown of Asakusa.

More than just a dance group, we are like one big family—the Kaminari Family, Asakusa Kaminari Ren.
