Tokyo Musou

Tokyo Musou is the Tokyo branch of Musou Ren, a member of the Awa Odori Promotion Association.

Established on January 1, 2025, Tokyo Musou was founded to bring Musou Ren’s philosophy of presenting “a dance unlike any other” to audiences throughout the Kanto region.

The men’s dance, known as the Musou Style, features striking movements with red uchiwa fans, expressing both powerful spirit and joy. This distinctive performance has earned them the nickname “Musou: The Seven Samurai.”

The women’s dance preserves a traditional style in which dancers perform without standing on the tips of their geta sandals, creating an elegant and charming performance.

Another highlight is Hana Musou, inspired by a folding-screen painting from the late Edo period. Dancers in a variety of colorful costumes recreate the joyful spirit depicted in this historic scene.

Carrying on the spirit and aspirations embodied in the name Musou, Tokyo Musou proudly presents its distinctive style of Awa Odori.
