On September 30, 2019, the Advisory Council for National Strategic Special Zones (Chairman: Prime Minister Shinzo Abe) held a meeting and approved Asakusa 6-ku Broadway (1-25 Asakusa, Taito-ku to 2-8 Asakusa, Taito-ku) as a special exception to the Road Act for Area Management of National Strategic Road Occupancy Project (Article 17 of National Strategic Special Zone Act The project was approved as a National Strategic Road Occupancy Project as stipulated in Article 17 of the National Strategic Special Zones Act.

October 1 is the day when the first theater in Asakusa Roku-ward, "Tokiwa-za," opened 132 years ago, and the first step was taken for Asakusa Roku-ward to flourish as an entertainment district.
